Elections!
Elections for new officers were held at
the annual awards banquet on January 31, 2009. Your
2009 officers are listed above. Thank you to all who
volunteered to run for offices! We have a great
group for this year and have many new, exciting
ideas and plans for the club. We will all need the
help of fellow club members to continue the high
standard that has been set. Thank you to all the
outgoing officers for your hard work in the past and
your support in the future. We want to continue to
be known as one of the best and biggest archery
clubs in the Northwest!
OperatAwards Banquet!
The annual Game Awards Banquet was
held at the Elks Lodge in Walla Walla on 1/31/09. We had
great attendance and everyone seemed to enjoy
themselves! In addition to the live auction, we had the
silent auction, plus lots of raffles, prizes, games,
awards (congrats to all the successful hunters!) and a
great dinner. We had lots of donations, which are
greatly appreciated. Donations were received from:

Please support those who donate to
us. Local merchants and businesses, not to mention club
members who donate items, support us year after year
(and forgive us if we excluded anyone). Thank you to
all the officers and club members who made the banquet
such a success! We missed those club members who
weren’t able to attend – don’t miss out on this fun
event next year!!
Tucannon Shoot!!:
Our annual Tucannon Shoot is
scheduled for March 21-22, 2009. This will be a trip
down memory lane for Don and Cathy Siemens. They were
president and secretary/treasurer 20 years ago and with
the help of MANY other club members, organized the FIRST
Annual
Tucannon Shoot. This shoot has grown
by leaps and bounds in the last 20 years and WE
NEED HELP! Please volunteer to help with set
up, registration, tear down, etc. Many hands make the
workload easier and WE NEED YOU!
The flyers with the pre-registration
slip attached have been sent out to all club members
plus the tournament mailing list. Registrations are
beginning to trickle in, so please get your
pre-registration form in as soon as possible. You can
also get the pre-registration form on our website at
www.bluemtarchers.com. Several club members will be
up there early, so whatever you can do to help out would
be greatly appreciated. Set up of the courses will
happen on Friday and lots of help is needed for tear
down on Sunday. Plus, remember that the club supplies
“beverages” on Fri and Sun and if you volunteer, you get
another chance to win the Volunteer Bow at the end of
the year! It’s a win/win all around!
Dues are Due!
Don’t miss out on all the fun, news,
camaraderie, awards, prizes and the rest of the benefits
of belonging to The Blue Mountain Archers. If you
haven’t paid your 2009 dues, you’ve received a reminder
and registration form along with this newsletter.
Please send a check, along with the form to our post
office box. If you received a reminder, but you have
already paid your dues, please contact Cathy Siemens, so
we can get that straightened out. Dues are due
by March 31, 2009. Members who have not
paid by that date will not be able to partake of club
benefits, i.e. the outdoor and indoor ranges, receive
newsletters, the annual picnic, etc. WE WANT YOU
WITH US!!
E-mail Addresses:
What do you think about getting your newsletters and
shoot flyers via e-mail for those of you who have
e-mail? We’d like to be as “green” as possible and
maybe save a tree or two, not to mention many dollars
spent on paper, ink, stamps, etc. If you’d like to
receive your notices via e-mail, please send Cathy
Siemens your e-mail address. Her address is
bowhunter@bmi.net.
*** BE ASSURED THAT YOUR
EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE STRICTLY FOR CLUB USE – IT WILL GO
NO FURTHER AND WILL NOT BE SOLD, TRADED, ETC. IT ALSO
WILL NOT APPEAR ON ANY EMAILS SENT OUT TO CLUB MEMBERS,
SO OTHERS WILL NOT KNOW YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS.
***
Thanks in advance for doing this – it
should save the club lots of $$ which can be used for
other club expenses. If you wish to continue to receive
paper notices, that’s fine too - just let us know your
preference.
Club Merchandise:
We’re in the process of taking inventory for
club merchandise we have in stock and will be placing an
order soon. Please take a look at the merchandise on
the website or at Steve’s Archery and place an order!
We have some great jackets and sweatshirts, vests, caps,
etc.
