About the Blue Mountain Archers

The Blue Mountain Archers are a locally run, non-profit membership organization dedicated to the proper promotion of archery and bow hunting. The club has been in the Walla Walla Valley for over 60 years, and operates two archery ranges for member use. The club also hosts a banquet, two 3-D Tournaments, a summer club picnic, a broad head shoot and a club appreciation/election dinner each year.

The purpose of this organization shall be to foster, expand and perpetuate the practice of field archery and the spirit of good fellowship among all archers, working with national or state archery organizations in providing better tournament opportunities. We encourage the use of the bow in hunting of all legal game birds and animals, and cooperate with national or state archery organizations in securing better hunting privileges and conditions for bow hunters along with cooperating with conservation organizations in the conservation of game.

The primary Club goal for 2009 is to increase local awareness of the Blue Mountain Archers in the area, to build club membership. In addition, the Blue Mountain Archers will be looking to expand the opportunities for youth, purchase more equipment, and to sponsor 4-H archery groups and educate youth at our indoor and outdoor ranges. We are also looking into the ability and possibility of hosting more shoots and statewide tournaments, with the idea of hosting a World Qualifiers or even Olympic Qualifiers father down the road. In order to accomplish these goals, the Club will need to enlist the help of local businesses (funds and prize donations).  The Club recognizes these businesses at the archery shoots and banquets throughout the year and encourages members to patronize these local businesses.

How to help the Club achieve these goals:

1.  Yearly Memberships - The building blocks of the club come from annual club memberships.

2.  Banquet item sponsorship and/or donation, - With recognition through advertisement and displays, the club is able to raise extra funds, with these items. Funds are used to support extra activities such as additional shoots, training (how to) seminars, and children activities.

3.  Target sponsorship, - when a business or individual sponsors a 3-D target, then that sponsor will be recognized with a sign at that target for the useful lift of the target.

4.  Life membership- Pledging a life membership to the club includes a life member jacket and hat.
